Adventure Unveiled: Exploring Ninh Binh’s Charm

Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Tam Coc – Hoa Lu (-/L/D)

Embark on an early morning journey from Hanoi, embracing a 2½-hour drive to the enchanting town of Ninh Binh. Renowned for its captivating landscapes, historical mysteries, religious sanctuaries, and wildlife havens, Ninh Binh unfolds as one of Vietnam’s gems. While the town itself may not boast overt attractions, it serves as the perfect gateway for captivating day trips.

Upon arrival in Ninh Binh, engage in discussions about the day’s adventures while savoring a refreshing drink. The exploration kicks off with a car ride to Tam Coc, where the rice fields of Ninh Binh transform into a surreal landscape. Dubbed “Halong Bay without water,” Tam Coc is characterized by limestone karsts dominating the scenery. Embark on a boat journey through the Three Caves, weaving past impressive cliffs, tiny villages, and solitary farming communities.

Day 2: Ninh Binh- Phat Diem/ Kenh Ga- Cuc Phuong National Park (B/L/D)

As you enjoy breakfast, your guide will join you to outline the day’s possibilities.

Option 1 – Phat Diem:

Embark on a 28km bicycle journey through picturesque rural landscapes, unveiling grand rural churches and a rare Japanese covered bridge. Upon reaching Phat Diem village, take a refreshing break in one of the local cafes. The streets of Phat Diem beckon exploration with numerous sewing shops, a vibrant local market, and the majestic Catholic Cathedral, a pinnacle of Vietnamese Catholicism. Constructed by French Jesuits, the cathedral harmonizes Chinese and Western styles in its solid grey stone and wood architecture. Its serene gardens and magnificent bell towers draw Vietnamese Catholics from neighboring dioceses. After touring Phat Diem, your private transport awaits for a return drive to Ninh Binh.

 

 

 

Option 2 – Kenh Ga:

Embark on a 21km bicycle ride through striking rural scenery. Arriving in Kenh Ga, your guide will arrange a private boat for an exploration that transcends the typical. Often referred to as “Halong Bay with rice fields,” Kenh Ga captivates with its undiscovered natural beauty. Navigate past spectacular limestone mountains emerging from the rice fields and a meandering river. The boat tour extends beyond the floating village, offering glimpses of cliff-side homes along the river, accompanied by smiling, waving children and mothers paddling with babies in tow. Explore a water-carved cave adorned with millennia-old mineral and rock formations.

Following the Kenh Ga adventure, return to Ninh Binh for lunch. Post-lunch, embark on a 45km journey to Cuc Phuong National Park, passing pineapple farms, rural villages, and scenic landscapes.
