Itinerary Details
Day 1: Hanoi – Ninh Binh – A Night Amidst Nature
Kickstart your adventure at 8 AM, as our private car and friendly guide pick you up right from your hotel in Hanoi. Just a couple of hours away lies Ninh Binh, a tranquil escape from the city buzz.
Once we arrive, hop on a bike and enjoy a leisurely ride through the picturesque Tam Coc area, where we’ll visit the serene Bich Dong Pagoda nestled amidst nature. From there, the journey takes a magical turn as you drift along the Ngo Dong River on a traditional boat, gliding through the majestic limestone karsts famously dubbed “Halong Bay on land.”
But the adventure doesn’t stop there! Next, we head to Mua Cave, a haven for trekkers. After a climb of nearly 500 steps (yes, it’s a bit of a workout, but so worth it!), you’ll be rewarded with a stunning panoramic view from Ngoa Long Mountain. Upon arrival, we’ll kick off with a scenic 1.5-hour walk along quiet village roads leading to Don Village. From there, the real adventure begins! We’ll trek to Hieu Hamlet, a hidden gem tucked away in the reserve and renowned as the most breathtaking and secluded spot in Pu Luong.
The path takes you through lush valleys adorned with golden rice terraces, winding up to higher ground for a panoramic view that will take your breath away. The trek is not just a walk but a journey through untouched beauty and timeless tradition.
End the day with a stay in a traditional bungalow of the Black Thai people. Here, you’ll experience their warm hospitality, surrounded by the peaceful rhythm of village life and the soothing sounds of nature.
Day 3: Pu Luong – Mai Chau: A Day of Discovery and Warm Smiles
After soaking in the tranquility of Pu Luong, it’s time to hit the road to Mai Chau, a charming valley bursting with culture and natural beauty. Our first stop is Van Mai Village, where you’ll get a glimpse into the art of traditional rice wine production—a craft passed down through generations. Next, we’ll visit a unique chopstick factory in Mai Hich Village, an intriguing look at how something so simple plays a big part in local life.
The adventure doesn’t stop there! Hop on a bike and explore the scenic Lac Village, nestled in the heart of Mai Chau’s emerald valley. Pedal through lush rice fields, past traditional stilt houses, and immerse yourself in the daily life of the White Thai ethnic community. Their warm smiles and rich culture make every turn of this journey unforgettable.

Day 4: Mai Chau – Cloud Chasing – Moc Chau: A Day Above the Clouds
Start the day by bidding farewell to your warm host family and heading toward Pa Co Village, nestled high in the hills at 1,500 meters above sea level. This is the home of the Blue Hmong community, where tradition thrives amidst stunning landscapes. Take a stroll through the village to explore the locals’ incredible skills in intricate needlework and the fascinating art of indigo dyeing.
From Pa Co, we journey onward to Moc Chau, but not without an unforgettable stop along the Cloud Hunting Trail. Get your trekking shoes ready for a 3-hour adventure to one of the region’s most breathtaking viewpoints. As you climb, the reward is extraordinary: a mesmerizing sea of clouds drifting over mountaintops, set against a backdrop of vibrant blue skies.
After this awe-inspiring experience, settle in for the night at a cozy homestay in Moc Chau, where the serenity of the countryside and the charm of the local culture will wrap up your day perfectly.
Day 5: Moc Chau – Nghia Lo: A Journey Through History and Scenic Beauty
Get ready for another adventure as we head deeper into Vietnam’s Northwest, making our way to Nghia Lo, a charming town in Yen Bai province. The journey is as exciting as the destination, with incredible stops along the way.
Just 10 kilometers from Moc Chau’s town center, we’ll visit the famous Bach Long Glass Bridge, officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest glass bridge in the world. Take a moment to marvel at this engineering wonder while enjoying the stunning views beneath your feet—if you’re brave enough to look down!
Continuing on, we’ll stop at Suoi Giang Commune in Van Chan District, home to ancient tea trees that are hundreds of years old. These towering giants are the source of Shan Tuyet Tea, a prized specialty with a rich history and flavor.
Before reaching Nghia Lo, we’ll pass through a traditional Thai village in Mu Cang Chai. This serene spot is known not only for its lush landscapes and fresh mountain air but also for its authentic stilt houses, preserved through generations.
Finally, we’ll arrive in Nghia Lo, where you can unwind and soak in the quiet charm of this lovely town. Overnight here, surrounded by the timeless beauty of northern Vietnam.
Day 6: Nghia Lo – Mu Cang Chai – Tu Le: The Artistry of Terraced Fields
Today’s journey takes us deeper into the mesmerizing landscapes of northern Vietnam, where nature and human ingenuity come together in perfect harmony.
Our first stop is La Pan Tan Village, home to the iconic Raspberry Hill. This awe-inspiring formation, with its circular rice terraces carved into the mountain slopes, is a testament to the craftsmanship and resilience of the H’mong people. These terraces, created by hand over centuries, stand as a living masterpiece of agricultural art.
Next, we’ll head to Lim Mong Village, tucked within the heart of the stunning Mu Cang Chai region. Day 7: Tu Le – Sapa: Trekking Through the Heart of the Mountains
After a delicious breakfast, we’ll hit the road again, this time heading toward the stunning Sapa, where unforgettable trekking adventures await. The journey to Sapa is filled with anticipation, and once we arrive, we’ll stretch our legs with a walk around the town, taking in the cool mountain air and the beautiful scenery.
But the real adventure begins when we leave town and start our trek toward Giang Ta Chai Village. This route is extra special, winding through lush terraced rice paddies, bamboo forests, and cascading waterfalls—each turn more breathtaking than the last. We’ll take a well-deserved break at one of the waterfalls in Giang Ta Chai, where you can swim in the refreshing waters and let the beauty of the surroundings soak in.
From there, we’ll continue to Ta Van, where you’ll experience the warmth and hospitality of a local Giay homestay. Spending the night here will give you a deeper connection to the culture and tranquility of this incredible region.
Day 8: Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi: A Farewell to the Mountains
After a relaxed breakfast, you’ve got the morning to yourself. Take your time to either unwind and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere or take a leisurely stroll around the village, soaking in the last bits of mountain serenity.
When you’re ready, it’s time to say goodbye to your warm host family and start making your way back. We’ll hop into the car and head to Lao Cai, where we’ll catch a transfer back to Hanoi. The journey marks the end of this unforgettable adventure, but the memories of these beautiful landscapes and heartfelt experiences will stay with you long after you’ve returned.
