Cu Chi Tunnels:
This legendary underground network, extending over 220 kilometers, is a must-see for both Vietnamese and international travelers interested in the history of the Vietnam War. Located approximately 60 kilometers from Ho Chi Minh City, the drive to the tunnels offers picturesque views of endless rice fields, rivers, ducks, and water buffaloes. It’s hard to imagine that this serene landscape was once ravaged by bombs and mines during the war when Cu Chi was designated a “free target zone.”
Once we arrive, you’ll have the chance to walk through parts of the tunnels, discover hidden corners, and imagine what life was like for the resistance soldiers. Try cooking with the smokeless stoves that were used during the war and taste the simple yet resilient foods soldiers survived on. For those feeling adventurous, you can even test your marksmanship by shooting an AK-47, one of the iconic weapons used in the war.
We’ll head back to the city in the afternoon, with the tour finishing at 2:30 PM or 7:00 PM, depending on your chosen schedule.
