Embark on a thrilling one-day adventure to Ruc Mon Cave, a breathtaking wonder on the Vietnam–Laos border. Discovered in 2017, this massive cave features both dry and wet passageways, incredible rock formations, and untouched beauty. Get ready to explore one of Vietnam’s most mysterious and awe-inspiring caves!

Itinerary Details

Morning: Journey to the Wild

07:30–08:00 AM: Your adventure begins! We’ll pick you up and head to our headquarters for a quick briefing and gear check. Once ready, we set off on a scenic 45 km drive, passing through the legendary Da Deo Mountain Pass. Along the way, our guide will share fascinating stories about the Ho Chi Minh Trail and its role in the Vietnam War, giving you a deeper appreciation of Vietnam’s rich history.

09:30–10:00 AM: We arrive at Yen Phu Village, home to the Trung Hoa ethnic minority. Fun fact: this is where scenes from Kong: Skull Island were filmed! As we begin our trek, you’ll witness the authentic daily life of the locals—farmers tending to their fields, children playing along dirt paths, and traditional wooden houses nestled among the limestone mountains.

Midday: Into the Jungle & Cave Exploration

11:00–11:30 AM: After trekking through the lush jungle, we finally reach the entrance of Ruc Mon Cave—a sight that will leave you speechless. Towering rock formations, mysterious dark passageways, and the cool breeze from deep within the cave set the perfect scene for our next adventure.

Before stepping inside, it’s time to refuel with a special jungle BBQ! Our local minority chef has prepared a mouthwatering feast, offering both meat and vegetarian options. Enjoy your meal surrounded by pristine nature, soaking in the tranquility before diving into the mystical depths of Ruc Mon Cave.

12:30 PM: Time to recharge! We’ll enjoy a delicious jungle lunch, surrounded by nothing but the untouched wilderness. Take this moment to relax, soak in the peaceful vibes, and chat with fellow adventurers. After lunch, you’ll have 15–30 minutes to rest before the real challenge begins.

1:00 PM: Get ready for an exciting uphill hike! We’ll ascend through steep, rocky terrain, winding our way through the dense forest. But don’t worry—the lush canopy above keeps us shaded, and every step brings us closer to an unforgettable sight.

1:20 PM: And there it is—the majestic entrance of Ruc Mon Cave! Standing at the top, you’ll be blown away by the panoramic views and the sheer size of the entrance, adorned with millions-year-old rock formations. Our guide will take a moment to share fascinating insights about the cave’s history, unique formations, and the local minority communities who have lived in harmony with this land for generations.

Now comes the real adventure!
To enter the cave, we’ll descend two vertical ladders (12m & 25m)—sounds challenging, right? But with a harness, safety gear, and our expert guide team, you’ll conquer this like a pro!

Next up: The Water Section!
Once at the bottom, we secure our phones and cameras in dry bags, put on life vests, and then—it’s time to jump! A 5-meter leap into the crystal-clear underground river is waiting for you. Not quite ready for the adrenaline rush? No worries! There’s a shorter ladder option for those who prefer a gentler entry. But hey, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so why not push your limits and GO FOR IT?

Sunset Trek Back – The Perfect Ending

4:00 PM: After drying off and enjoying some refreshing drinks and snacks, we’ll pack up and double-check our gear before making our way back through the jungle. This final trek is pure magic—crossing rivers, wandering through rice field valleys, all while witnessing a breathtaking sunset that bathes the landscape in golden light.

5:30 – 6:30 PM: Back on the bus, heading toward Phong Nha, your mind will be buzzing with everything you just accomplished. With thousands of incredible photos and a heart full of memories, this is one adventure you’ll never forget.

Tour includes

• English-speaking guide and professional porter team
• Transportation
• Tour equipment: helmet, headlight, gloves, socks, trekking sandals ,towel life jacket, etc.
• Waterproof bag for the camera and phone
• Lunch, snacks, and drinks; a refillable bottle of water; first aid.

Necessary to bring

• Swimwear
• One set of clothes to change after the trip.
• We highly recommend you use the hiking boost, but in case you don’t have one or you don’t want your shoes to get wet and muddy, trekking sandals are available to borrow.
• Personal items: mosquito spray, sunscreen, glasses, hats, etc.

Watch out for

• Poison Ivies: itchy, skin burned!
• Leeches—blood-sucking worms—carry no disease—no infection!
• Sharp and spiky rocks!
• Way more muddy and slippery when it’s wet!

Note that you should wear long-sleeved shirts on the tour to avoid squeezing, or bumping into thorny, itchy plants during the trip. 

At our office, we rent long-sleeved shirts. If you don’t have one or can’t prepare it in time, you can rent it at the office.

Important Notes!

• Due to weather conditions, the guide may change the route to ensure the clients’ safety! 
• Please check and make sure you understand the details of the tour that you will join to ensure you get the value you expect from the journey! 
• Don’t bring jewelry or any other valuable accessories! 
• Long sleeves and long pants are highly recommended due to the leeches and poison ivy on the way!
