Embark on a thrilling 2-day expedition deep into the untouched wilderness of Ruc Mon Cave. Experience the rich culture of indigenous villages, trek through 6 km of pristine jungle, and conquer one of Vietnam’s most breathtaking caves by swimming, climbing, and floating through its vast chambers. Itinerary Details

Day 1: Phong Nha – Hoa Son – Ruc Mon – Indigenous Culture & Cave Exploration

07:30–08:30 AM – Gear Up for the Adventure!
Rise and shine! We’ll pick you up from Phong Nha and head to the headquarters to get fully prepped for the expedition. You’ll be provided with everything you need—long-sleeve shirts, socks, trekking sandals, refillable water bottles, and safety gear—to ensure a safe and thrilling journey ahead.

1:30–4:30 PM – Dive Into Ruc Mon’s Underground Wonders
Get ready to swim 2km through the pristine waters of Ruc Mon’s entrance—an exhilarating way to kick off this epic cave adventure! After that, we’ll climb through different rock formations and witness ancient limestone patches sculpted over millions of years. The highlight? Exploring the dry cave system, which stretches across three massive floors, revealing breathtaking mineral layers and spectacular stalactites.

Evening – Jungle Tales & Local Hospitality
After conquering the cave, it’s time to unwind with a warm cup of coffee and delicious cakes, lovingly prepared by our porter team. As the sun sets, we’ll immerse ourselves in local culture, sharing a hearty dinner with the ethnic villagers. Sit around the fire, listen to real-life jungle survival stories, and toast with homemade “happy water” (local rice wine)—a truly authentic and unforgettable experience!

Camping Under the Stars
Choose your overnight spot: set up your tent at the cave entrance for a true wilderness experience or stay with the local minority villagers for a cozy, cultural stay. Single and double tents are available upon request.

Note: Camping spots may change due to weather conditions to ensure everyone’s safety.

Day 2: Into the Wild – Ruc Mon’s Hidden Depths & Primeval Forest Trek

7:30–8:00 AM – A Hearty Breakfast to Fuel the Journey
Wake up to the sounds of nature and enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast—choose between a sunny-side-up egg with bread or a warm bowl of noodles to get you energized. After breakfast, we’ll pack up our gear and get ready for the day’s adventure.

8:30–11:00 AM – Trekking Through the Untamed Jungle
Time to hit the trail! We’ll venture deep into the untouched primeval forest, covering 6 kilometers of rugged terrain. Along the way, you’ll witness towering ancient trees, listen to the calls of exotic wildlife, and feel the raw beauty of Vietnam’s unspoiled nature.

11:00–1:30 PM – A Well-Deserved BBQ Feast by the Cave Entrance
After the long trek, we’ll reach Ruc Mon’s mouth, where a sizzling BBQ feast awaits! Enjoy delicious grilled meats, fresh vegetables, and local delicacies, all prepared by our expert team. Take some time to relax and soak in the scenery before we continue our journey.

1:30–2:30 PM – Swimming, Floating & Climbing to the Other Side
The adventure kicks up a notch as we navigate Ruc Mon’s water passage—floating, swimming, and climbing through its mystical depths. This is the ultimate way to experience the cave’s raw, untouched beauty. As you emerge from the other side, you’ll be greeted with hot coffee, tea, and cakes, a perfect treat before the final stretch.

3:00–4:00 PM – Trekking Back Through Rivers & Cornfields
The journey isn’t over yet! We’ll trek through serene rivers and golden cornfields, catching the last glimpses of this breathtaking landscape. It’s the perfect moment to reflect on the adventure and capture some final stunning photos.

4:15–5:15 PM – Back to Civilization
With hearts full of memories, we’ll board the car and begin our return journey to Phong Nha town. Sit back, relax, and relive the highlights of this once-in-a-lifetime expedition.

Note: The route may be adjusted due to weather conditions to ensure everyone’s safety.

Tour includes

• English-speaking guide and professional porter team
• Transportation
• Tour equipment: helmet, headlight, gloves, socks, trekking sandals ,towel life jacket, etc.
• Waterproof bag for the camera and phone
• Lunch, snacks, and drinks; a refillable bottle of water; first aid.

Necessary to bring

• Swimwear
• One set of clothes to change after the trip.
• We highly recommend you use the hiking boost, but in case you don’t have one or you don’t want your shoes to get wet and muddy, trekking sandals are available to borrow.
• Personal items: mosquito spray, sunscreen, glasses, hats, etc.

Watch out for

• Poison Ivies: itchy, skin burned!
• Leeches—blood-sucking worms—carry no disease—no infection!
• Sharp and spiky rocks!
• Way more muddy and slippery when it’s wet!

Note that you should wear long-sleeved shirts on the tour to avoid squeezing, or bumping into thorny, itchy plants during the trip. 

At our office, we rent long-sleeved shirts. If you don’t have one or can’t prepare it in time, you can rent it at the office.

Important Notes!

• Due to weather conditions, the guide may change the route to ensure the clients’ safety! 
• Please check and make sure you understand the details of the tour that you will join to ensure you get the value you expect from the journey! 
• Don’t bring jewelry or any other valuable accessories! 
• Long sleeves and long pants are highly recommended due to the leeches and poison ivy on the way!
