Itinerary Details

Day 1: Hanoi – Bai Tu Long Bay – Vung Vieng Village. O/N On Boat – Athena Cruise (L/D)

Morning Activities

Commence your journey at 8:00 AM as our guide and driver greet you at your Hanoi hotel, transporting you to Halong City. Enjoy a 3-hour scenic drive, with a brief 15-minute break for relaxation and restroom use after 2 hours. Arrive in Halong around 11:30 AM.

Afternoon Activities

12:00 Arrive at Hon Gai Pier and undergo boarding procedures.

12:45 Athena Cruise guide delivers a welcome speech, providing details about the cruise and safety instructions.

13:15 Relish lunch featuring the finest Bay products.

14:45 Explore Vung Vieng floating fishing village by kayaking.

15:30-16:30 If you prefer relaxation on the boat, utilize our sauna at no extra cost.

17:00 -18:30 Happy Hour: buy 1, get 1 free.

17:30 Engage in the Cooking Demonstration to uncover the secrets of Vietnamese Cuisine.

19:00 Enjoy a set-menu dinner on board.

21:00 Participate in Squid Fishing. Enjoy free time on the boat, and the bar remains open late. Overnight at Cong Do Area.

Day 2: Bai Tu Long Bay – Thien Canh Son – Bac Son Valley. O/N Homestay In Bac Son (L/D)

Morning Activities

06:30 Join Tai Chi on the open deck—a beautiful and relaxing experience. Tea and coffee are served.

07:00 A light breakfast is provided.

07:30 Explore Thien Canh Son Cave in Bai Tu Long Bay, admiring its beautiful stalactites and stalagmites (approximately 200 steps to reach the cave).

09:00 Check-out. Place your luggage outside the cabin, and the staff will transfer it to our lounge. Settle your bill at the reception.

09:30 Brunch served at the restaurant on the 2nd deck.

10:45 The boat arrives at the pier.

Afternoon & Evening Activities

Upon disembarking in Halong Bay, our driver and guide welcome you at the harbor, transferring you to Bac Son. Spend the entire afternoon driving to Bac Son, check into the homestay, and have dinner with the local family. Homestay in Bac Son.

Day 3: Bac Son Visit & Na Lay Mountain. O/N Homestay In Bac Son (B/L/D)

Morning Activities

After breakfast with the local family, visit a nearby tile factory to witness the traditional technique of tile production. Explore a small valley, trekking through rice fields and a beautiful forest.

Reach the highest point to enjoy panoramic views, then proceed to another valley, descending on a buffalo path. Return to the homestay for lunch and a short break.

Afternoon Activities

The driver transports you to the starting point to conquer Na Lay Mountain, offering breathtaking views of Bac Son Valley. Descend and explore Dang Mo Waterfall before returning to the homestay for the night.

Evening Activities

Enjoy a local meal prepared by the host for dinner and engage in conversations to discover their rich culture. Overnight at a stilt house. Homestay in Bac Son.

Day 4: Bac Son – Ban Gioc Waterfall – Cao Bang. O/N Homestay In Cao Bang (B/L/D)

Morning Activities

After breakfast with the family, depart from Bac Son, heading to Cao Bang via Lang Son. En route, visit Nguom Ngao Cave, one of the largest caves in the area, featuring fascinating rock formations. Have lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon Activities

Continue the journey to Ban Gioc Waterfall, situated on the China-Vietnam border. Take a bamboo boat to appreciate the beauty of the waterfall—one of Vietnam’s largest and most impressive. Check into the homestay, have dinner with the family, and spend the night at a stilt house. Homestay in Cao Bang.

 

 

 

 

Day 5: Cao Bang – Meo Vac – Dong Van. O/N In Dong Van (B/L/D)

Morning Activities

After breakfast at the stilt house, leave Cao Bang for Meo Vac, enjoying spectacular mountain views. Experience one of the most breathtaking roads in Vietnam, including the scenic Ma Pi Leng Pass. At an elevation of 2000 meters, this pass offers stunning views of valleys and terraced fields. Descend into Meo Vac Valley and have lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon Activities

Continue to Dong Van, climb to Pu Lo—a French fortress built in 1890—with incredible views. Explore Dong Van Rock Plateau to appreciate its unique beauty. Check into a hotel or homestay, have dinner at a local restaurant, and enjoy free time in Dong Van.

Evening Activities

Explore Dong Van town and experience local nightlife. Overnight in Dong Van. Homestay in Dong Van (or hotel option).

 

Day 6: Dong Van Sunday Market – Ha Giang. Overnight Homestay in Ha Giang (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Morning Activities

Following breakfast, if your travel date falls on a Sunday, explore the vibrant Dong Van Market. Meet local minority people and purchase fascinating handmade goods and special products. Note: If your travel time is not on the Sunday market in Dong Van, a visit to Lui Market can be arranged based on the departure date.

Afterwards, depart from Dong Van, passing through Quan Ba to visit Twin Mountain, Heaven Gate, and enjoy a picturesque road along the mountains, immersing yourself in local life and cultures. Have lunch en route.

Afternoon Activities

Continue the journey in the afternoon, passing through an imposing pine forest in an Hmong village, the historic site of the powerful Vuong family. The palace served as a store for opium and weapons in the past, providing a glimpse into Hmong Royal life.

After independence in 1950, the palace was evacuated, and descendants of this influential H’mong family now reside in France and Canada. Reach Ha Giang, check in, and have dinner with a local family. Take the opportunity to relax in Ha Giang, interact with local minority people, and gain insights into their life and culture. Overnight in a stilt-house. Homestay in Ha Giang.

Day 7: Ha Giang – Thon Tha Village – Hanoi (Breakfast/Lunch)

Start the day with breakfast at the homestay. Explore Ha Giang by visiting Thon Tha village to gain a deeper understanding of the local cultures and countryside in the mountains. Afterward, depart from Ha Giang for the return journey to Hanoi. Enjoy lunch on the way.

Afternoon Activities
