Itinerary Details
Day 1: Hanoi – Duong Lam Ancient Village – Ha Giang. O/N At Homestay In Ha Giang (L/D)
Morning Activities:
Commence your day as our guide and driver fetch you from your Hanoi hotel. Bid farewell to the bustling city and set forth for Ha Giang. However, before reaching Ha Giang, our initial stop will be at Duong Lam village, renowned as one of the oldest villages in Vietnam. Stroll through its ancient streets, providing you with a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and architecture. This village offers an authentic taste of rural life, allowing you to interact with the locals and relish a home-cooked meal.
Afternoon Activities:
Following a satisfying lunch, trace the meandering river from Duong Lam into the hills of Ha Giang, treating yourself to breathtaking views along the way. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner, settling in for an overnight stay in Ha Giang.
Day 2: Ha Giang – Quan Ba (Heaven Gate) – Dong Van. O/N In Dong Van (B/L/D)
Morning Activities:
Embark on a day filled with breathtaking landscapes. Commence your journey to Dong Van by first obtaining the necessary permits at the Immigration Office. Traverse a series of long passes, reveling in the spectacular views along the way. Pause for lunch in Tam Son, a charming mountain town that may be small but is undeniably beautiful.
Afternoon Activities:
Proceed to the Royal King of the H’mong Palace, an imposing fortress commissioned by local chief Vuong Chinh Duc, who had aligned with the French against the Viet Minh. Constructed in the early 1900s, the palace follows the architectural style of the Person Qing era in early Chinese design, utilizing materials like solid stones, wood, and terracotta tiles. As your journey continues, you’ll reach Dong Van around 17:00, just in time for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 3: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac. O/N In Bao Lac (B/L/D)
Morning Activities:
Commence your morning with a visit to the vibrant market of Dong Van, where locals engage in their shopping routines before heading back to their mountain abodes. Following this, ascend a pass to reach the French Fortress of Pu Lo, constructed in 1890 and abandoned in 1945. From this vantage point, relish a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire region. Embark on a 7 km trek to Thien Huong village, a quaint settlement nestled in the valley adjacent to the border with China. Inhabited by the Tay ethnic minority, you’ll return to Dong Van for lunch.
Afternoon Activities:
Embark on a 10 km ascent along the road to the summit of the Ma Pi Leng Pass, winding through a distinctive landscape of rocky limestone peaks and expansive valleys. Descend into Meo Vac Valley, reaching the town of Bao Lac. Enjoy dinner and spend the night in this picturesque town.
Day 4: Bao Lac – Ba Be National Park. O/N At Homestay In Ba Be National Park (B/L/D)
Morning Activities:
Commence the day with a delightful breakfast, followed by a journey along the mountainous road from Bao Lac to Cao Bang. Along the way to Cao Bang, we’ll unveil our hidden route—a spectacular small road winding through the hills in the Tay village of Cho Ra, eventually descending into Ba Be National Park.
Afternoon Activities:
Upon lunch at a local restaurant, we’ll explore Hua Ma’s cave before continuing our journey to Pac Ngoi village. A warm welcome awaits you from our incredibly hospitable Tay hosts in their traditional stilt home. Enjoy a family dinner and immerse yourself in the tranquil night within Ba Be National Park.
Day 5: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (B/L)
Morning Activities:
Following breakfast at the homestay, bid farewell to your local hosts after an amazing night. Embark on foot to Bo Lu Quay, where you’ll board a boat for an excursion around Ba Be Lake. Relax on board, witness the wild beauty, or take a refreshing swim in the cool, pristine waters. Drift down the Nang River, absorbing the picturesque karsts adorned with patches of wild vegetation and inhabited by fascinating creatures. Marvel at the rainbow of butterflies and the melodic songs of diverse bird species in the park. The boat will dock at Puong Cave, offering insights into the stalactites, stalagmites, and a thriving bat colony. After exploring the lake, rest during the drive back to Hanoi, including lunch at a local food stall.
Afternoon Activities:
