“Border Guard Spring – Warming the Hearts of Highland Communities” Brings a Loving Tết to the People of Sơn La’s Highlands

In the joyful atmosphere welcoming the Lunar New Year, the program “Border Guard Spring – Warming the Hearts of Highland Communities | Tết Vùng Cao 2026” was successfully held at Hua Lạnh Village and Huổi Hịa Village, Sốp Cộp Commune, Sơn La Province, over two days on January 31 and February 1, 2026, leaving deep impressions and warm emotions among local residents.
The program was jointly organized with the participation of Nậm Lạnh Border Guard Station, the Party Committee and People’s Committee of Sốp Cộp Commune, along with charitable organizations including Hope Team, Globle NK, Vietnam Local Adventures, Học Trò thầy Huyền Diệu Group, and a dedicated team of medical staff and volunteers.
Medical Care – Sharing – Connecting with Love
On January 31, 2026, the program focused on medical check-ups, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for children and disadvantaged residents in the two villages. These activities contributed to providing essential primary healthcare support for people living in border areas where medical conditions remain limited.
At the same time, a series of traditional Tết activities such as making bánh chưng and cooking meals for children took place, allowing local children to directly participate, experience, and gain a deeper understanding of the nation’s cultural values.
In the afternoon and evening, cultural exchange performances were held, where songs and dances by highland children blended harmoniously with the youthful spirit of volunteers and border guards. Notably, the campfire gathering became an emotional highlight, strengthening solidarity among the military, local residents, charitable organizations, and medical teams, while spreading a strong spirit of sharing and unity along the nation’s border areas.
Tết Gifts – Spreading Spring Warmth Along the Border
On the morning of February 1, 2026, the program continued with cultural exchanges, meetings with representatives and delegates from participating units, followed by a Tết gift-giving ceremony for disadvantaged households and children in the local community.
Each meaningful gift package included:
- Daily essential supplies
- 01 New Year Tết gift set
- 01 warm blanket
- 02 bánh chưng
- 01 box of instant noodles
- 01 bag of rice
The total value of gifts distributed reached VND 482,515,000, reflecting the collective generosity and strong commitment of the supporting community.
Though simple, these gifts carried heartfelt care, responsibility, and compassion, helping local families welcome a warmer and more complete Tết amid the harsh winter conditions of the mountainous border region.
Sowing Seeds of Love – Keeping the Border Warm
The program “Border Guard Spring – Warming the Hearts of Highland Communities | Tết Vùng Cao 2026” not only provided material support but also served as a meaningful bridge of spiritual connection, demonstrating the strong companionship of border guards, local authorities, and social organizations with border communities.
Through this initiative, the program contributed to strengthening national unity, spreading profound humanitarian values, and ensuring that spring arrives not only early at the nation’s frontiers, but also lingers warmly in the hearts of all participants and local residents.
The organizing committee would like to extend sincere and heartfelt gratitude to all donors, sponsors, and benefactors whose generous contributions made this program possible. Your kindness and support played a vital role in bringing a warm and meaningful Tết to the people of Sơn La’s highlands.
