Embark on this 4-day journey, allowing exploration of renowned destinations with captivating landscapes, such as Dong Van, Meo Vac, and the breathtaking Ma Pi Leng Pass in Ha Giang province, as well as the stunning Ba Be Lake in Bac Kan province. Positioned as Vietnam’s northernmost province, Ha Giang is situated approximately 300km north of Hanoi. This province holds the highest latitude in Vietnam and is bordered by Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai, sharing its northern boundary with China. Ha Giang is home to diverse ethnic minorities, including the Dao, H’mong, Tay, and Nung. On the other hand, Ba Be Lake, nestled in Nam Mẫu commune, Bắc Kạn district, Bắc Kạn Province, stands as the largest natural lake in Vietnam. To make the most of the Dong Van Sunday ethnic market visit, the tour is recommended to be scheduled over the weekends.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang (L, D)
In the morning, our guide and driver will pick you up, commencing the journey from Hanoi to Ha Giang. While the drive lasts approximately 7 hours, it unfolds some of Vietnam’s most stunning scenery. En route, we will make several stops, allowing visits to quaint villages and opportunities for picturesque photography. Following the lengthy journey, a brief stroll through Ha Giang is planned to explore a Tay and Nung village nestled in a charming valley near the town. Our overnight stay will be in Ha Giang.
Day 2: Ha Giang – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Lung Cu – Dong Van (B, L, D)
In the morning, our journey proceeds to Quan Ba district, with a stop in Quan Ba to explore the Bo Y minority village. This region boasts delightful weather throughout the year. Afterward, we will have lunch in Yen Minh town, taking a one-hour break before continuing to Sa Phin village. Here, we’ll visit the Former H’Mong King’s Palace. Continuing our ascent, we’ll reach the Flag tower atop Lung Cu mountain, marking the border with China.
By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Dong Van district, where you can relax and stroll around the historic town of Dong Van. Dinner will be served in the town, and tonight’s accommodation will be at the Rocky Plateau Hotel in Dong Van town. (B/L).
Day 3: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Ba Be Lake (B, L, D)
If today happens to be Sunday, we’ll seize the opportunity to explore the Dong Van ethnic market, a vibrant scene where various goods and colorful garments are available for purchase. The local people maintain their traditional way of life, reflecting the essence of remote minority tribes. After immersing ourselves in the lively atmosphere of the Sunday market, we’ll embark on a picturesque drive from Dong Van along the Nho Que River, traversing the renowned Ma Pi Leng Pass, celebrated as the most beautiful pass in Vietnam. Two hours later, we’ll reach Meo Vac, where a brief rest is in order before continuing our journey to Ba Be Lake. Tonight’s accommodations will be at a homestay in Pac Ngoi village, offering a delightful dinner, beer, and the serene views of the river. (B/L/D).
Day 4: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (B, L)
This morning, following breakfast and a brief 30-minute break, we embark on a boat excursion across Ba Be Lake, the largest lake in Vietnam, boasting a water area spanning approximately 500 hectares and stretching over 8 kilometers. Our journey includes a visit to Puong Cave, renowned as one of the most exquisite caves in Ba Be National Park. Subsequently, we’ll navigate the boat to Dau Dang waterfall, and during the interval before lunch is served at a local Minority restaurant, we’ll indulge in a short stroll to admire the beauty of Dau Dang waterfall. Following lunch, our boat journey resumes, returning us to Pac Ngoi village. After a brief respite, we’ll commence our drive back to Hanoi (240 km), with an anticipated arrival in Hanoi by noon. The tour concludes.
