The route unfolds stunning mountainous landscapes adorned with verdant tea plantations and lush green mountains. During the approximately 4-hour walk through a narrow, elongated valley, encounter various hill tribes, each distinctive in their village setups, unveiling traditional customs and lifestyles. The Thai people inhabit the lower lands near valley foot, utilizing streams to power water wheels for rice terrace irrigation. The H’mong settle at higher elevations, cultivating corn and dry rice on burned-over land, while the Dzao, residing in the middle, practice a combination of farming techniques, drawing influence from the Thai ethnic minority.
Upon reaching Tu Le town, a charming mountainous destination, spend the remaining hours of the day exploring the market area. Check into the hotel, take a well-deserved rest, and leisurely stroll around the town before dinner. Enjoy an evening at the White Thai homestay in Tu Le.
Day 2: Tu Le to Mu Cang Chai to La Pan Tan (150 km ~ 5 hrs) (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Commence the day with breakfast in Tu Le before embarking on a journey to La Pan Tan. A scenic road trip of approximately 1 hour allows ample time to explore the local ethnic minority communities and gain insight into their authentic mountainous lifestyle. Embark on a four-hour trek along a trail connecting various villages, encountering diverse ethnic minorities such as White Thai, Black Dzao, and Red H’mong. The market serves as a social hub for different ethnic groups to interact and exchange goods through the sale of wine.
Following the Can Cau Market visit, return to the car and journey towards Sapa. Along the way, take the opportunity to visit a Flower H’mong village before checking into a hotel in Sapa.
