Day 1: Hanoi – Night Train to Lao Cai

Commence your adventure with an 08:00 pickup at the hotel lobby in Hanoi. Head to Hanoi Railways station for an exciting night train journey to Sapa. Your night will be spent onboard, immersed in the anticipation of the mountainous exploration ahead.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Day 2: Lao Cai – Transfer to Sapa – City Visit and Half Day Walking (B)

At 06:30, you’ll arrive at Lao Cai Railways station, where a warm welcome awaits. Afterward, proceed to transfer to Sapa, indulging in breakfast upon hotel availability. Check in and set out to explore Ham Rong Mountain, offering panoramic views of the ethereal “City on Cloud.”

In the afternoon, reconvene at the hotel and embark on a journey to the Silver Waterfall, just a short distance from Sapa town. Marvel at the breathtaking vistas of the surrounding mountains and the verdant forests within Hoang Lien National Park. Take a moment to connect with locals during a tea break at a nearby farm.

Continuing uphill, reach the Heavens Gate, marking the highest point on this Vietnamese road and the provincial boundary of Lao Cai and Lai Chau provinces. Revel in the spectacular views of the valley before settling in for an overnight stay in Sapa.

 

 

 

Day 3: Lao Chai Ta Van – Ta Phin – Lao Cai – Train Back to Hanoi (B)

Embark on our concise journey as we head south towards the picturesque Muong Hoa valley. The adventure begins with a descent into the valley, home to the most extensive rice paddy terraces in the Sapa region. Our knowledgeable guide will share fascinating insights into the art of rice cultivation.

For those visiting the valley between May and October, witness the captivating process of planting and harvesting, integral to the locals’ daily lives. The trek guides us from Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong minority to Ta Van village of the Giay minority, culminating in a visit to the local Catholic Church. Following our exploration of Ta Van, the car will transport us back to Sapa.

Approximate Duration: 1 hour driving / 2 hours walking

Check-out time is at 12:00. Descend towards Lao Cai, taking a left turn onto a small paved road leading to Taphin village. Here, immerse yourself in the unadulterated cultural life of the Black Hmong and Red Dao minorities, the two largest ethnic groups in the region. Despite living harmoniously, they each preserve their unique traditions passed down through generations. Distinguish them by their distinctive attire, renowned for its craftsmanship. Wander among the locals, enjoying the opportunity to visit their houses. Afterward, we transfer back to Lao Cai for our night train journey to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.

Day 4: Hanoi – Arrival

Between 04:00 and 04:30, the train arrives at Hanoi Railways station, and we will transfer you to your hotel, marking the end of our services.
