Night 1: Hanoi – Night Train to Lao Cai

At 08:00, we pick you up from your Hanoi hotel lobby and transfer you to Hanoi Railways station for the night train journey to Sapa. Overnight on the train.

Day 1: Lao Cai – Transfer to Sapa – Y Linh Ho Village – Lao Chai Village – Ta Van Village – Giang Ta Chai Village – Sapa (B)

Upon your 06:30 arrival at Lao Cai Railways station, our team welcomes you and facilitates the transfer to Sapa. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel and check-in, subject to availability. The day unfolds with a captivating hike through the stunning landscapes of Sa Pa valley. Embark on a journey along the Cau May street, descending 6 km, where the morning mist unveils hidden rice terraces.

Follow a scenic track, traverse the Muong Hoa River, and meander through well-kept rice terraces en route to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai. Progress through vibrant rice fields to reach the Giay people’s village, Ta Van. Continuing alongside the Muong Hoa River, cross a small suspension bridge, approximately 2 km from the settlement, and encounter a captivating array of rock carvings depicting intricate images of man, stilt houses, and beautiful decorative patterns.

A home in the village hosts our lunch. Post-lunch, the trek leads through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a village of the Red Dao ethnic minority. After a refreshing break near a waterfall, ascend uphill to reach a road where a waiting car transports us back to Sapa. Overnight in Sapa.

Approximate duration: 1-hour drive / 4 hours walk / 1-hour lunch.

Day 2: Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Y Linh Ho Village – Transfer to Lao Cai Train Station – Train back to Hanoi (B, L)

In the morning, descend to Cat Cat village, reveling in the enchanting landscapes and the scenic route, featuring a waterfall and a hydroelectric station. Take a brief respite before continuing the trek along a dirt trail amidst rice paddy terraced fields. The region, safeguarded by Hoang Lien National Park, remains cloaked in rainforest. Reach Y Linh Ho village, home to the Black Hmong people, where another pause precedes the ascent toward the main road.

Our waiting vehicle picks us up, returning us to Sapa. Check-out is at 12:00. Later, explore Ham Rong Mountain for a panoramic view of the “City in the Cloud of Sapa” before heading back to Lao Cai for our night train journey to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.

Approximate duration: 15 minutes drive / 3 hours walk.
Note: The trail may be slippery during the rainy season from Cat Cat to Y Linh Ho.

Day 3: Hanoi – Arrival

Between 04:00 and 04:30, arrive at Hanoi Railways station, where a transfer to your hotel awaits. End of services.
