Itinerary:

Day 1: Hanoi – Duong Lam Ancient Village – Ha Giang. Overnight at Homestay in Ha Giang (L/D)

Morning Activities:

Commence your journey with our guide and driver picking you up from your hotel in Hanoi. Bid farewell to the bustling city as you head towards Ha Giang. However, before reaching Ha Giang, your first destination is the exploration of Duong Lam village, one of the oldest villages in Vietnam. Stroll through the village to gain deeper insights into Vietnamese culture and architecture. Immerse yourself in the rural ambiance as you interact with the local residents, savoring a home-cooked local meal.

Afternoon Activities:

Following lunch, trace the meandering river from Duong Lam into the hills of Ha Giang, reveling in the breathtaking views that unfold along the route. Conclude the day with dinner and an overnight stay in Ha Giang.

 

Day 2: Ha Giang – Quan Ba (Heaven Gate) – Dong Van. Overnight in Dong Van (B/L/D)

Morning Activities:

Experience breathtaking landscapes today. Start by obtaining the necessary permit at the Immigration Office before embarking on your journey to Dong Van, navigating through a series of impressive mountain passes. Lunch will be served in the charming mountain town of Tam Son.

Afternoon Activities:

Visit the Royal H’mong Palace, a fortress constructed by local chief Vuong Chinh Duc in alliance with the French against the Viet Minh. Built in the early 1900s, the palace follows early Chinese architectural designs from the Qing era. Constructed using materials such as solid stones, wood, and terracotta tiles, it holds historical significance. Arrive in Dong Van by 17:00 for dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel.

 

 

Day 3: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Bao Lac. Overnight in Bao Lac (B/L/D)

Morning Activities:

Explore Dong Van’s colorful marketplace in the morning as locals shop for essentials. Climb up to the French Fortress of Pu Lo, built in 1890, and evacuated in 1945, offering panoramic views of the entire region. Trek 7 km to Thien Huong village, a small village nestled in the valley near the China border, inhabited by the Tay ethnic minority. Return to Dong Van for lunch.

Afternoon Activities:

Ascend 10 km to the summit of the Ma Pi Leng Pass, featuring a unique landscape of rocky limestone peaks and vast valleys. Descend into Meo Vac Valley, reaching the town of Bao Lac, where dinner and an overnight stay await.

 

 

 

 

Day 4: Bao Lac – Ba Be National Park. Overnight at Homestay in Ba Be National Park (B/L/D)

Morning Activities:

Embark on a mountain road journey from Bao Lac to Cao Bang, revealing a secret path winding through the hills in the Tay village of Cho Ra before descending to Ba Be National Park.

Afternoon Activities:

Have lunch at a local restaurant and explore Hua Ma’s cave before continuing to Pac Ngoi village. Be warmly welcomed by a friendly Tay household in their traditional stilt home. Enjoy dinner with the family and spend the night immersed in the beauty of Ba Be National Park.

 

 

 

 

Day 5: Ba Be Lake – Hanoi (B/L)

Morning Activities:

Commence your day with breakfast at the homestay, bidding farewell to your local host after a memorable night. Embark on a leisurely walk to Bo Lu Quay, where you’ll board a boat for an enchanting excursion around Ba Be Lake. Relax on board, engage in some birdwatching, or take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. Drift along the Nang River, marveling at the scenic karsts adorned with patches of untamed vegetation and hosting various fascinating creatures. Spot a myriad of butterflies dancing in the sky and listen to the melodic songs of the diverse bird species in the park. The boat will dock at Puong Cave, providing insights into the mesmerizing stalactites and stalagmites formed by river erosion on the karst, along with a view of the bat colony numbering in the thousands. After exploring the lake, enjoy a relaxed drive back to Hanoi, stopping for lunch at a local food stall.

Afternoon Activities:
