Itinerary Details
Day 1: Hanoi – Yen Bai – Nghia Lo – Muong Lo Valley. Homestay In Nghia Lo (L/D)
Morning Activities:
Depart from Hanoi city and head towards Yen Bai. Follow the national route No.32 westward to Nghia Lo district in Yen Bai province, enjoying the picturesque landscapes of Vietnam’s mountains along the way. Savor lunch at a local restaurant in Nghia Lo.
Afternoon & Evening Activities:
Explore the Muong Lo valley, renowned for its beautiful terrace fields in Nghia Lo. Muong Lo Valley, the second-largest valley in the mountainous North-West, provides a glimpse into the life of the Thai minority people. Encounter suspension bridges and more, gaining insight into the local way of life.
Check into your accommodation, offering stunning countryside views. Take the opportunity to visit local villages, experience daily life, and indulge in a special dinner featuring traditional dishes prepared by a skilled Thai chef. Overnight at a homestay.
Day 2: Nghia Lo – Tram Tau – Cu Vai Village – Tu Le. Homestay In Tu Le (B/L/D)
Morning Activities:
After breakfast with the family, depart from Nghia Lo to reach Tram Tau District, 30km southwest. Tram Tau shares its border with Son La Province and has challenging roads, especially on the route to Bac Yen Town in Son La Province.
Explore Cu Vai village in Xa Ho commune, situated on a high hill and home to the H’Mong people. The village offers breathtaking mountain scenery and a glimpse into the local Hmong way of life. The road may be challenging, but the views of Thai people’s homes can be rewarding.
Cu Vai village boasts untouched natural beauty, with clouds creating a heavenly atmosphere, particularly from December to early March. Return to Nghia Lo, then proceed to Tu Le for an overnight stay. Check in for a homestay, enjoy dinner with the family, and immerse yourself in the mountain atmosphere. Overnight at a homestay.
Day 3: Khau Pha Pass – Discover Beauties Of Terrace In Mu Cang Chai. O/N In Mu Cang Chai (B/L/D)
Morning Activities:
Capture the sunrise if the weather permits before leaving Tu Le. Journey through Khau Pha Pass, a scenic route perfect for photography. Continue to Mu Cang Chai, dedicating a full day to exploring its remarkable scenery.
Visit and photograph the Che Cu Nha Rice Terrace Field of the H’Mong people. Explore Che Xu Phinh and La Phan Tan, recognized as the national landscape of Vietnam in 2007 for their famous and stunning terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai District. Ride a motorbike to reach Mam Xoi Hill, offering a beautiful view of a terrace field. Return to Mu Cang Chai for lunch at a local food stall.
Afternoon & Evening Activities:
Continue the exploration to Kim Noi village, known for its beautiful terrace fields. Enjoy dinner at a homestay and interact with local people to gain deeper insights into their culture. Overnight at a stilt-house homestay in Mu Cang Chai.
Day 4: Mu Cang Chai – Tu Le – Nghia Lo – Hanoi (B/L)
Morning Activities:
Have breakfast with the local family. Leave Mu Cang Chai to return to Tu Le, where you can trek to Lim Mong (Black H’Mong people) and Lim Thai (White Thai people) villages (5 km). Observe terrace fields and local life before continuing to Nghia Lo. Pass through Khau Pha Pass again, enjoying its beautiful and spectacular views unique to northern Vietnam. Lunch at a local food stall.
Afternoon & Evening Activities:
In the afternoon, the guide and driver will transfer you back to Hanoi city. Your memorable journey through the Mu Cang Chai terrace fields and untouched Cu Vai village concludes at your Hanoi hotel. Wishing you an unforgettable experience!
