Itinerary Details

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau Valley. Overnight at Homestay in Mai Chau (L/D)

Morning Activities:

Commence your journey as our guide and driver pick you up from your Hanoi hotel at 8:00 AM, embarking on a 4-hour drive to Mai Chau. Upon arrival in Mai Chau, immerse yourself in Pom Coong village, home to the White Thai ethnic group. Check into the homestay and receive a warm welcome from our hosts. Lunch will be a delightful affair, featuring the delicious cuisine of the Thai people.

Afternoon Activities:

Take some time to rest and relish the fresh air of the village. Embark on a village stroll, gaining insight into local life. Learn the art of silk weaving using an ancient loom in the family courtyard, and observe various daily activities such as buffalo land preparation, rice planting, and corn or vegetable harvesting. Dinner will be served at the family’s stilt house, offering basic yet safe and clean accommodations for the night.

 

 

Day 2: Mai Chau – Nghia Lo. Overnight at Homestay in Nghia Lo (B/L/D)

Morning Activities:

Begin your day with a family breakfast. Early risers can relish the sounds of mountain life and the invigorating morning air. Depart from the beautiful Mai Chau valley, heading to the Moc Chau plateau renowned for its tea plantations, pleasant climate, and dairy industry. En route, enjoy breathtaking views of tribal villages belonging to the H’mong, Thai, and Muong people, along with stunning scenes of rice terrace fields and traditional wooden stilt houses on hill sides. Continue the journey to Phu Yen valley and savor lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon Activities:

In the afternoon, travel to Nghia Lo, the capital of the Thai ethnic people in Muong Lo. Marvel at the attractive landscapes of rice fields and vegetable gardens along the way. Share a family dinner and spend the night at a homestay in Nghia Lo.

 

Day 3: Nghia Lo – Mu Cang Chai. Overnight at Homestay in Mu Cang Chai (B/L/D)

Morning Activities:

Enjoy breakfast with the family and kick off your day with a tour of the Hoang Lien Son chain, featuring stunning rice terraces. Hike further to explore exquisite terrace fields and visit ethnic Thai and H’Mong villages, gaining a deeper understanding of their customs.

Afternoon Activities:

Continue your journey to Tu Le, passing through the mesmerizing Khau Pha Pass, one of the most spectacular routes in North Vietnam. Arrive in Mu Cang Chai to revel in the spectacle of terrace fields. Conclude the day with a family dinner and an overnight stay at a homestay.

 

 

 

Day 4: Mu Cang Chai – Lai Chau – Sapa. Overnight at Hotel in Sapa (BL)

Morning Activities:

Commence your day with breakfast at the homestay. This morning offers further exploration of Mu Cang Chai for enhanced enjoyment. Depart from Mu Cang Chai towards Than Uyen, seizing more opportunities to witness the breathtaking terrace fields that will leave you in awe. Marvel at the splendid Tram Ton Pass, Vietnam’s highest pass at 2047 meters above sea level, relishing the fresh air and panoramic views of Fanxipan Mountain (3143 meters) shrouded in fog and clouds throughout the day. Arrive in Sapa town and savor lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon Activities:

The afternoon grants you the freedom to explore Sapa town at your own pace. Enjoy dinner on your terms and settle in for the night at the hotel.

 

 

 

Day 5: Extended Trek to Lao Chai – Ta Van Village. Overnight at Homestay in Ta Van (BLD)

Morning Activities:

Start your day with breakfast at the hotel. Embark on a full-day trek covering approximately 6km from Sapa to the Black H’Mong village of Y Linh Ho and Lao Chai. Revel in the stunning panoramic views of the valley and terrace fields from the village. Along the trekking path, make a stop at a small stall for a delightful picnic lunch.

Afternoon Activities:

Continue your trek to Ta Van village, situated in the heart of Muong Hoa valley, offering an added layer of enjoyment. Experience an overnight stay at a tribe stilt house in Ta Van village, providing a unique cultural encounter and insight into their lifestyle.

Day 6: Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Return to Hanoi (BL)

The driver will then transfer you back to Sapa town, where you can continue your discovery of Cat Cat village by strolling through its scenic surroundings. In the afternoon, the driver will escort you back to Hanoi via the Lao Cai – Hanoi highway. You can be dropped off at Hanoi airport for your departing flight from Vietnam or at your hotel in Hanoi, marking the end of our tour.
