Itinerary Details

Day 1: Lao Cai – Sapa – Cat Cat Village – Ham Rong Mountain. Overnight at Hotel De La Coupole MGallery Sapa (B/L)

Preparing for the Journey:

The evening before, board the night train from Hanoi to Sapa. At 20:30, our guide and driver pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi and transport you to the train station for the 21:30 AC Soft sleeper coach with 2 berths. Overnight on the Train.

Morning Exploration:

Welcomed at Lao Cai train station at 6:00 am, you’ll be transferred to Sapa. Upon arrival, enjoy breakfast and a refreshing morning shower after the night on the train. Embark on a 3km trip to Cat Cat Village, home to the Black H’mong ethnic people, located near the base of Fansipan Peak.

Discover Tien Sa stunning waterfall and breathe in the fresh mountain air at the entrance to Cat Cat village. Witness the daily life of locals, trek down to the waterfall where the French built a Hydraulic Power Station, and capture the scenic beauty with bridges and waterfalls. Explore the village, admire the beautiful terrace fields, and return to Sapa town for lunch at a restaurant.

Afternoon & Evening Delights:

Continue the journey by climbing Ham Rong Mountain in the center of Sapa town. Ham Rong Mountain boasts a blend of natural and man-made landscapes, featuring various flowers and orchard gardens. From the summit, take in the panoramic view of Sapa town and, on cloudy days, witness the town veiled in clouds. Enjoy the rest of the day at your hotel, and have a free evening to experience Sapa’s nightlife. Overnight at Hotel de La Coupole MGallery Sapa.

Day 2: Sapa – Trek Sa Seng – Hau Thau Village. Overnight at Hotel De La Coupole MGallery Sapa (B/L)

Morning Trek:

Meet our guide and commence the day’s trek along Muong Hoa valley. Leave Sapa, travel to Sa Seng village, and begin the trek to Sa Seng village, the home of Hmong people. Follow a large, rocky uphill path for 2 hours, walking through a narrow valley along the mountainside to reach Sa Seng village. Witness the lifestyle of the Hmong people and break for lunch in the village.

Afternoon & Evening Exploration:

Continue the trek uphill for 1 hour to reach Den Thang mountain and then Hang Da village, also inhabited by Hmong people. Enjoy the views of Muong Hoa valley and visit local houses. Follow an easy walking road and a steeper downhill path to reach Hau Chu Ngai and continue to Thao Hong Den village, a small hamlet with excellent photography opportunities.

Reach Hau Thao commune late afternoon, where our driver awaits on the main road to transfer you back to Sapa town. The evening is free for wandering around Sapa town and having dinner. It’s recommended to taste Sapa BBQ food along the streets and markets for local dishes. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Sapa – Can Cau Saturday Market – Lao Cai. Night Train Back to Hanoi (B/L)

Morning Expedition:

Travel 125km from Sapa to reach Can Cau Saturday market in Si Ma Cai District of Lao Cai (60km from Lao Cai). This market is renowned for its livestock, especially in the fascinating open-air section. It is a gathering place for eight different minorities and attracts Chinese traders for product exchanges. Explore the diverse cultures, lifestyles, and trading practices of local minority groups at this vibrant market. Enjoy lunch with local foods at the market.

Afternoon & Evening Journey:

In the afternoon, depart from Can Cau market and have the driver transfer you to Lao Cai train station for the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight in a VIP cabin with 2 berths.

Arrive in Hanoi around 5:30 am the next morning, and our driver welcomes you at the train station, transferring you to your hotel for an early check-in.
