Itinerary details

Day 1: Hanoi Cao Bang

Bus from Hanoi to Cao Bang (belongs to the local bus company)

Limousine: 6h00 – 12pm (noon time) – 14h00 

Pick up in bus station, please ready before 30 minutes 

After a 7-8 hour ride (have 2 stops on the way), reach Cao Bang, check in hotel and relax

Overnight in Cao Bang

Day 2 Cao Bang City => Angel Eye Mountain => Phja Thap Village => Ha Lang =>  Ban Gioc Waterfall

Start your day with a warm breakfast at your hostel in Cao Bằng City. 

At 08:30 AM, your local guide will greet you and begin the journey into the heart of Vietnam’s northern highlands.

Travel through the winding Mã Phục Pass, where limestone mountains rise dramatically from the earth. 

Stop at the mystical Angel Eye Mountain, a natural wonder with a giant circular hole piercing through its peak.

Continue to Phja Thắp Village, home to the Nùng ethnic group, where traditional stilt houses and handmade incense reveal a slower, more soulful way of life. 

Pass through Phúc Sen Village, known for its blacksmithing heritage, and the peaceful hills of Hà Lang and Ba Quang.

By late afternoon, arrive at Bản Giốc Waterfall, one of the most breathtaking waterfalls in Southeast Asia, 

Spend the night at a charming homestay nearby, where the sounds of nature lull you to sleep.

Day 3 Pac Bo Cave – LeNin River => Visit Na Tenh Pass => Xuan Truong Valley => Bao Lac

Wake up to the soothing sounds of the waterfall and enjoy breakfast at your homestay.

At 08:30 AM, begin your journey to explore the hidden gems of Cao Bằng.

Visit the mysterious Ngườm Ngao Cave, with its stunning stalactites and underground chambers. 

Pause at the peaceful Trúc Lâm Pagoda, perched above the waterfall, offering panoramic views and spiritual calm.

Travel through the lush Ngọc Côn Valley, where rice fields stretch between karst peaks.

In the afternoon, arrive at the historic Lê Nin River and Pác Bó Cave, where Hồ Chí Minh once lived and worked during the revolutionary years. 

Spend the night at a homestay near Pác Bó, surrounded by quiet hills and stories of the past.

Day 4 Pac Bo Cave => Visit Na Tenh Pass => Xuan Truong Valley => Khau Coc Cha Pass => Bao Lac

After breakfast, set off at 08:30 AM for a scenic drive through some of the region’s most dramatic landscapes.

Cross the serene Na Tenh Pass, descend into the green embrace of Xuân Trường Valley, and climb the winding roads of Khâu Cốc Chà Pass, where clouds often drift below the road.

Arrive in Bảo Lạc, a quiet mountain town where ethnic diversity and natural beauty meet.

Spend the night at a local homestay or hotel, enjoying the hospitality of the highlands.

Day 5 Bao Lac => Visit Khuoi Khon Village ( Lo Lo Ethnic group ) => Nguyen Binh => Ba Be Lake

Enjoy breakfast and begin your final day at 08:30 AM.

Visit Khuổi Khôn Village, home to the Lô Lô ethnic group, known for their vibrant traditional clothing and rich cultural heritage.

Continue through Nguyên Bình, passing through quiet villages and forested hills.

By early afternoon, arrive at Ba Bể Lake, a tranquil freshwater lake surrounded by limestone cliffs and ancient forest.

At 14:30 PM, embark on a peaceful boat trip across the lake, soaking in the serenity and natural beauty.

After the boat ride, a private car will take you back to Hà Nội, concluding your unforgettable journey through Vietnam’s northern frontier.
