Itinerary Details
Night 1: Hanoi – Ha Giang City
At 7:30 PM, our sleeper bus will pick you up from your hotel or hostel in Hanoi. Get comfortable, settle in, and let the journey begin! As we cruise through the night, you can rest up before the adventure ahead. By 4:00 AM, we’ll arrive in Ha Giang, where you’ll check into hostel/homestay for a few hours of rest before hitting the road.
Day 1: Ha Giang City – Quan Ba – Yen Minh – Dong Van (135km)
- 8:00 AM: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Hostel to fuel up for the ride.
- 8:30 AM: Time to meet your guide and kick off the legendary Ha Giang Loop!
Our first stop is Bac Sum Pass, where the winding roads and misty mountains set the tone for an epic adventure. From there, we climb up to Quan Ba Heaven Gate, a breathtaking viewpoint where you’ll soak in panoramic views of endless limestone peaks and lush valleys. Just nearby, we’ll admire the famous Quan Ba Twin Mountains, also known as the “Fairy Bosom,” a natural wonder with an interesting local legend.
As we continue through Can Ty Pass, you’ll be surrounded by rugged landscapes and rice terraces stretching as far as the eye can see.
By lunchtime, we’ll reach Yen Minh town, where we’ll enjoy a delicious local meal before getting back on the road.
In the afternoon, we’ll conquer Tham Ma Pass, a legendary zigzag road that’s as thrilling to ride as it is stunning to look at. Next, we’ll step back in time at The Hmong King’s Palace, a historical site that gives insight into the life of a powerful Hmong ruler during the French colonial period.
Finally, we’ll arrive in Dong Van town, where you can check into your hotel and unwind.
- 7:00 – 7:30 PM: Enjoy a well-earned dinner in Dong Van, then take a leisurely stroll through the charming Dong Van Ancient Town, where traditional houses, cozy cafés, and the peaceful evening atmosphere make for the perfect end to an unforgettable day.
Day 2: Dong Van – Ma Pi Leng Pass – Meo Vac – Du Gia Village
- 8:00 AM: Start the day with a delicious breakfast in Dong Van town. If it’s the weekend, don’t miss the Dong Van Sunday Market, where locals from surrounding villages gather to trade goods, from colorful fabrics to fresh produce.
Now, get ready for one of the most spectacular rides of your life—Ma Pi Leng Pass. Known as one of Vietnam’s “Four Great Passes,” this stretch of road offers jaw-dropping views of deep valleys, towering cliffs, and the emerald-green Nho Que River far below. Every turn reveals another breathtaking scene, and we’ll take our time soaking it all in.
As we ride through the Hmong villages, you’ll witness the simple yet beautiful way of life of the ethnic communities living in the mountains.
By midday, we’ll stop for lunch in Meo Vac or Mau Due village, where you can enjoy a warm meal before we continue the journey.
In the afternoon, we hop back on the bikes and make our way to Du Gia village, passing through scenic highlights like Sa Li Pass and the stunning Lung Ho Viewpoint, where you’ll want to pause for some incredible photos.
Before reaching our homestay, we’ll visit Du Gia Waterfall, a hidden gem perfect for a refreshing dip or just relaxing in nature.
- Evening: Check in at a cozy Tay ethnic homestay in Du Gia village, where you’ll experience the warmth and hospitality of the local people.
- 7:00 – 7:30 PM: Enjoy a traditional home-cooked dinner, sharing stories with your hosts and fellow travelers in this peaceful mountain retreat.
Day 3: Du Gia – Duong Thuong – Lung Tam – Nam Dam
- 8:00 AM: Wake up to the fresh mountain air and enjoy a local breakfast at the homestay while taking in the stunning valley views.
If it’s a Saturday, we’ll stop by the Du Gia Market, where ethnic minorities from different villages come together to sell handmade crafts, fresh produce, and livestock—a truly authentic cultural experience.
Our journey continues to the Duong Thuong Viewpoint, another spectacular stop offering panoramic views of Ha Giang’s rugged landscapes.
Next, we’ll visit Lung Tam Village, famous for its traditional Hemp Weaving craft. Here, you’ll meet local Hmong women who have been weaving and dyeing hemp fabric for generations. Learn about their intricate process and perhaps pick up a unique handmade souvenir.
By lunchtime, we’ll arrive in Tam Son town to enjoy a tasty meal before heading to our final stop for the day—Nam Dam Village, a peaceful village known for its Dao ethnic culture and stunning surroundings.
- 5:00 PM: Check in at a traditional Dao ethnic homestay in Nam Dam.
- 7:00 – 7:30 PM: Gather around for a cozy homemade dinner, capping off another incredible day in the Ha Giang mountains.
Day 4: Nam Dam – Lung Khuy Cave – Ha Giang
- 8:00 AM: Wake up in the peaceful atmosphere of Nam Dam village and enjoy a traditional breakfast at the homestay, surrounded by misty mountains and fresh morning air.
After breakfast, we’ll head to Lung Khuy Cave, known as the most stunning cave on the Ha Giang Loop. Hidden within the karst mountains, this cave is filled with mesmerizing stalactites and stalagmites, creating a magical underground world. It’s a short but scenic trek to the entrance, and the view along the way is absolutely worth it!
By midday, we’ll arrive at H’Mong Villa for lunch. This spot is not just about delicious food—it also features an infinity pool overlooking the mountains, perfect for relaxing after days on the road. Take a dip, sip a coffee, and soak in the breathtaking scenery before we hit the final stretch of our journey.
- 3:30 PM: We’ll wrap up the motorbike adventure back at Hostel in Ha Giang City, where you can rest and freshen up before your return to Hanoi.
Night 5: Ha Giang – Hanoi
- 7:20 PM: The sleeper bus will pick you up from Hong Hao Hostel for the overnight ride back to Hanoi. Get comfortable and reflect on the incredible memories from the past four days.
- 3:00 AM: Arrive in Hanoi, officially marking the end of an unforgettable Ha Giang Loop adventure!
